Day #10 The Joy of Sun on My Face + A Nice Walk
Reflections
After a few days of much-needed rain, it was delightful to feel the sun on my face today when Kevin and I took the dogs for a walk. What a lovely walk it was! We all needed it, especially after being cooped up for several days. Upon walking down the driveway and stepping into the sunlight, the sensation was reminiscent of the afternoons from my childhood, marking the commencement of summer vacation on the final day of school. I envisioned teenagers tearing papers out of their notebooks and throwing them into the air as they quickly cleared their lockers to head off to the beach. The park down the street seemed to agree as there was a team setting up an inflatable jump house for what looked like some sort of party.
Well, I hope whoever they were, they had fun!
Gratitude
Today, like every day, I am incredibly grateful for the joy I experience while working. You know the saying, “Find something you love to do, and you’ll never work a day in your life.” Well, that’s precisely how I feel about painting. It’s enjoyable, and I adore it; isn’t that what life is meant to be about?
Today, it seems like everywhere I looked, I found ‘good things.’ From the sun on my face to the feeling of the first day of summer break to the fun progress I made in the studio on the diptych I’m still working on, it was a day of joy.
See you tomorrow!
