#18: The Most Remarkable Aspects of Acrylic Paint

Abstract art by Stephanie Saul

Reflections

As an artist, I am adventurous when exploring diverse painting mediums. Watercolor captivates me as I delight in the harmonious dance between water and pigment. It’s like a delicate symphony, where every brushstroke sings and intertwines to convey my artistic vision.

Oil painting, with its sumptuous richness and depth of color, holds a special place in my heart. I appreciate its forgiving nature. The long drying time allows me to modify and perfect my work, as I can easily wipe away imperfections and begin anew.

Chalk, charcoal, and pastels also have their charm, offering unique textures and effects that can bring drawings to life. Yet, at this moment, my absolute favorite medium is acrylic. Its versatility and vibrant hues inspire me to create bold and dynamic pieces, allowing my creativity to flourish.

Gratitude

One of the most remarkable aspects of acrylic paint is its incredible versatility; if something doesn’t turn out how you envisioned it, you can easily paint over it, layer by layer, until you achieve a result that delights you. This forgiving nature allows for creative freedom, inviting you to explore and experiment without the fear of making something unwanted permanent.

And so, today’s good thing is acrylic paint.

PS…the above piece is a newly finished 60” x 48” x 1.5” acrylic on canvas, unframed. Please contact me here if you are interested in purchasing it. Otherwise, it will be listed in the shop soon.
