#26 A Deep Sense of Purpose and Connection

Reflections

Today unfolded as a beautiful day, though it carries a bittersweet weight. I treasure every moment spent with my mom, especially since we live six hours apart. This morning was lovely as we sat together on her patio, sipping steaming cups of coffee while the warm sun cast a golden glow over the backyard. The vibrant spring flowers, just beginning to bloom, create a stunning backdrop for our conversation.

In the afternoon, we took the dogs for a walk, enjoying the cold breeze and the rustle of leaves around us. As Lady, mom's little dog, tugged eagerly at the leash, she transformed mom into a kite of sorts, soaring through a heavy wind. Seeing them together brought radiant smiles to our faces, a heartwarming reminder of life’s simplest pleasures. I’m grateful and look forward to spending the next week fully immersed in these treasured moments with her, savoring every second of joy and connection.

However, beneath the surface of this joy lies the sorrow that brought me here. We are navigating this time of grief together after the passing of her husband, my stepfather, just last week. Being by her side during this challenging period feels like the right thing to do, and I hope our time together can bring her some comfort amidst the heartache.

Gratitude

The most incredible aspect of this moment is the opportunity to be truly present for her. Knowing that my support means everything, I feel a deep sense of purpose and connection to her during this time we share. It's all that matters.

See you tomorrow!
